The Novel Writing Thing Again – Sticky

It’s November.
Since I can’t comfortably grow a moustache and I no longer accept advertising that I’d normally donate, I’m combining NaNoWriMo with my usual December charity goal. A month early.
Because this year is all about conquering Christmas, before December 1st.
To both save my sanity and to enjoy December. For once. Totally.
Anywhore. For the third year in a row, I’m attempting NaNoWriMo – writing a 50,000 word novel within November’s 30 days. I’ve never made it past !8,000 before without quitting or getting bored, but this year, I’m kind of determined because I plan to use you.
Oh yeah, baby.
Here’s the gist:
In the past, I’ve put the novel-efforts on a separate page of my blog. This year, it’s on this page. But you need a password to access it, see. And since some of you have like, really, nicely, politely DEMANDED that I allow you access in the past, I figure that some of you might want it again. But it will cost you. As much as you want it to.
I want you to pledge, in the comments, to pay $0.XX per thousand words that I write (or leave me a comment to email you for the pledge amount, if you’re not fancy on saying in public, all naked-like, a penny per thousand words. Pennies MATTER, still – don’t disregard their value, kay?). When you do, I’ll send you the password. At the end of the month, everyone who pledged will help decide what charity their monies will go to, whether it’s the Salvation Army, Food Bank, a halfway- or safe-house, something support medical research, aiding widowed families, rehabing ones, mental illness support, eating disorder awareness, suicide prevention, or even to specifically be used to provide a family in poverty with Christmas essentials like warmth and food and caring. It’s up to you, pledgers. But it shall be done. And I’ll match whatever is collected from your pledges.
So, double the money for some one(s) and you can critique my writing.
Win-Win, right?
Want to get involved? Leave a comment with your pledge and you’ll get an email from me shortly thereafter. Do me a favour, too? Share it around. Let’s get more pennies in the pool for someone who could really use it.
Oh, and just to make it easy, I’ll keep this post sticky, and update it with the current word count.
