One of my favourite aspects of kids this age is their stream-of-consciousness approach to language. A lot of the time, especially when they’re really excited, their brains are working faster than their mouths and vocabularies can support. It happens to people no matter what their age, I guess. But, when this happens to adults, we stop, or we fumble over words and start again. Not kids Zoey’s age. They push through, and if they need to, if they don’t know the ‘real’ ones, they just make up the words on the spot. It’s awesome. It’s almost a shame that we all grow out of this stage.
